Many people want whiter teeth. Over time, our teeth accumulate stains from a variety of sources, such as coffee, tea, tobacco, and simple aging. Even ordinary foods can cause our teeth to absorb stains gradually, and we are born with certain pigments in our teeth. Tooth whitening is a common cosmetic dental procedure that is very effective at removing any accumulated stains, and will brighten teeth beyond their natural color.

The at-home tooth whitening procedure, we create an impression of your teeth and use it to create thin, custom-fitting plastic trays. At home, you will place a gel containing carbamide peroxide in the tray, which you then wear for specified periods of time, or perhaps overnight, for a time frame of about two to four weeks, sometimes longer. While you wear the trays, the carbamide peroxide breaks down, giving off oxygen, which enters the enamel and dentin and bleaches the colored substances. The structure of the tooth is not modified or changed in any way.
